Menurut Penuturan Ketua Gapoktan desa Baliagung Dewa Aji, dua pintu air yang bertahun-tahun mangkrak dan tak berfungsi tersebut, padahal pintu air tersebut sangat di butuhkan oleh para petani sebagai pembuangan air, melalui kali primer bila banjir datang kealiran sungai samudra. Namun saat ini kedua pintu air tersebut tak berfungsi lagi karna sudah rusak di makan usia.
“Ya ini tadi kepala balai besar Lampung Wilayah Sungai Mesuji Sekampung mengecek langsung kelokasi mas, dan akan langsung merenofasi dua pintu air yang berada di hamparan sawah desa bali agung kecamatan Palas, Kabupaten Lampung Selatan, di BP 15 dan BP 16,”ucap dia, Senin, (09/10/2023) saat mendampingi rombongan tersebut.
Lebih lanjut Dewa aji mengatakan, bila mendengar ucapan Kepala balai tadi bulan Oktober ini akan langsung di kerjakan renovasinya. Dengan akan di renovasi dua pintu air tersebut, harapan dirinya Dan para petani, bisa membawa manfaat bagi para petani saat musim hujan nantinya.
Menurut Dewa aji, Karna Wilayah Kecamatan Palas terutama petani di Desa Baliagung merupakan penyumbang hasil pertanian padi terbesar di Kabupaten Lampung Selatan.
